Gomina naa sọ pe oun ti kilọ fun awọn Oba tẹlẹ lati “fi owo si ibi ti owo n gbe” ati lati ṣe gbogbo oloselu ni ọmọ wọn lai ṣe ojuṣaaju.

MAKINDE WARNS TRADITIONAL RULERS: DON’T TAKE SIDES IN 2027 CAMPAIGNS, WE WILL CALL OUT ANY OBA WHO DOES!

The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has warned traditional rulers in Oyo State to stay away from partisan politics as the 2027 election campaigns draw closer.

Makinde made this statement today while receiving the chieftaincy title of Aare Asoludero of Ibarapaland at a grand ceremony held in Ibarapa.

The Governor said he had previously advised the Obas to “put their money where their mouth is” in terms of neutrality and to treat all politicians as their children without favouritism.

However, he emphasized that if any Oba decides to openly dabble into politics to support a particular party when campaigns begin, his administration will openly call out such a monarch.

“Your Majesties, you are fathers to all of us. Don’t allow anyone to use you for dirty politics. If you dabble into politics, we will tell you the truth.”

The Aare Asoludero ceremony was attended by community leaders, traditional rulers, and top politicians in Oyo State.
